Congratulations to our Graduates!

PACeS would like to congratulate the class of 2013.

Our 3 graduates have successfully completed all the Alberta Ed graduation requirements!

Our graduates came from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba this year. We enjoyed celebrating with each of them in their own special way. We “took the show” on the road and enjoyed celebrating with each family.

Congratulations to Bethany, Aldana and, Rebekah . We will miss you. We have enjoyed having you be a part of the PACeS family. We would also like to congratulate Bethany Conway for earning the distinction of being the class valedictorian.

Our prayer is that you will continue to remain close to God as he continues to guide you through  life’s journeys.  We know that God has great things planned for each of you.

This week I have enjoyed visiting various “classrooms” and having worship with them before class. I have been blessed to spend a few minutes chatting and worshiping with your children. Thanks for sharing them with us.

“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.

Ecclesiastes 11:5

As the principal I am hesitant to say that “ignorance is bliss”. But it is. The less you know the less you have to worry about. Today I suggest that you enjoy the bliss that God has given us. Take a break from trying to figure everything out and just let God do it.

Enjoy your day,

Heidi Lehmann

About two thousand year ago, Jesus called 12 men to be his disciples. They were ordinary people who lives changed the day the Jesus asked them to follow Him. When we choose to follow Jesus, things will change for us. The whole point of being a disciple or follower is to become like the one you are following. My prayer and hope for you today is that in your journey to follow Jesus you will become more and more like Him.

  • Last night I had the pleasure of attending the year-end gymnastics program for Samuel Edmond, one of our grade 5 students. I have put some pictures below. They are  “action” shots so not the best quality but, you will get the idea. If you have any pictures of something that your child is doing please send them in to me. I would love to post them.
  • Our new and updated website will be launched in the beginning of July. I am excited about our new look. If you have ideas or suggestions of what we need on our website please let us know. We appreciate and value your feedback.
  • I am looking forward to our “Week of Prayer” next week. K-6 will meet at 11:00 am each day and 7-12 will meet at 10:00 am. Please check out the modified class schedule that is posted on our homepage.
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6
This morning I am happy that I can change and grow. I don’t know about you but, I tend to always have ideas of what I can and should do next. Trying new things, making plans and looking ahead excites me and gives me a reason to get up in the morning. I love to wake up each day with the possibility of what can be done. Some days its as simple as clean my bedroom or chat with my parents on the phone. Other days it might be more grand: try to run 5k, bake a new recipe or work on the plan for our new webpage. I am glad that God wants us to change and grow. God is working in us to make us better. The circumstances and opportunities that God places before us allow us to change and grow. We of course can choose the direction we head but, He is there to make us better. So, take what today has to offer you and grow and learn. Enjoy the journey that God had in store for you.
“Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that, but simply growth. We are happy when we are growing.” -William Butler Yeats

April 11

  • Welcome Back! I hope that everyone had a great Spring Break!
  • I have had a blessed and busy month. I enjoyed our Mission Trip to Belize. Our students worked hard on our building project. We built a washroom block for a school in the village of Billy White. I enjoyed seeing our students share God’s love with the students at the school each day, during our radio programs at night, with the children at the “Kings Children’s Home” and in their interactions with each other. I have put a few pictures below.
  • K-8 report cards were sent out on March 22 and 9-12 grades and being submitted today and I will then send out the the reports.
  • We have “Week of Prayer” during the week of April 22. Esmon Emmons, a teacher from Deer Lake School, will be our speaker for K-8. He will be speaking at 11:00 am each day. Paul Llewellyn, the Youth and Education Director for the Maritime Conference will be speaking to Grades 7-12 at 10:am each day. Please take careful note of the modified schedule for that week. I have posted it on our homepage. There will be no regular assemblies during April.

During my daily devotionals this week I came across this quote from Sarah Young in her book “Jesus Calling”;  “I am with you and for you, your constant Companion and Provider. The question is whether you are with Me and for Me. Though I will never leave you, you can essentially “leave” Me by ignoring Me; thinking or acting as if I am not with you. When you feel distance in our relationship, you know where the problem lies. My Love for is constant.”

“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Genesis 28:15

March 6

  • Tomorrow is the “Fun Day” for Grades 9-12 at 9:00 am. We will be having a Talent Show.
  • Aaron, Tony, Xavier, Natalie, Tayler, her mom Jody and I will be leaving on Sunday morning to head to Belize for the Mission trip. While we are there we will build a washroom block for a school,  participate in a “Week of Prayer”, visit an orphanage and be on the local Seventh-day Adventist radio station. We will be on “Faith Fm Belize”. The students will be participating in a talk show most evenings. Check out their website and you can listen to us online. Faith FM
  • Our spring Week of Prayer will be April 22-26. Pastor Paul Llewellyn, the Maritime Conference Youth/Education director, will be the speaker for Grades 7-12 and Esmon Emmons, a long time teacher at Deer Lake School, will be the speaker for Grades K-6. Please pray for our school, families and speakers as we get ready for this week of blessing.
  • We are working on upgrading various things around PACeS. We are working on a new website that we plan to have up and running this summer. We will also be upgrading Blackboard to version 12. If there are things you’d like to see on the new website or any suggestions that you may have please call or email me. We want our programs to to be parent, student and teacher friendly.
  • I have posted some pictures of Ski day below. Remember, if you have any pictures, send them in and I will post them.
  • There will be no blog post next week because I will be away… “See” you on the 20th.
Last week at the College Heights Church in Lacombe, Pastor Ron Sydenham’s sermon was entitled “God’ Sign for these Times”. The point he made was that we are the sign that points other to Christ. A sobering thought. Click on the link below if you would like to listen to his sermon.
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5: 14-16

“Your gravest danger is worrying about tomorrow. If you try to carry tomorrow’s burdens today, you will stagger under the load and eventually fall flat. You must discipline yourself to live within the boundaries of today. It is in the present moment that I walk close to you, helping you carry your burdens. Keep your focus on My Presence in the present.”  Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young

‘Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.” Psalm 73:23

Have a great day!

I fidget. It is hard for me to sit still. You don’t want to sit beside me on the couch with out giving me room to move. While fidgeting can be annoying on some levels  I am glad the I can “fidget” with my life of worship. God does not want us to be at a standstill. He wants to us to be moving, growing and learning.

“The life of a worshiper is never at a standstill. God reveals, and we reply. God acts, and we are amazed. God Shines, and we reflect. This is the life of worship. This is the beautiful rhythm of revelation and response that occurs when our hearts, minds, and souls encounter the wonders of God.”  Mirror Ball, by Matt Redman

Have fun fidgeting! Go and try something new. See where your life of worship will take you this week.
