Dear Alberta Conference School Families,
I pray this communication finds you healthy and safe. Thank you for being our partners in education during this extremely difficult time. We acknowledge that as parents and caregivers you are under an unusual amount of pressure and stress. No one (myself included) was given a manual as to how to parent or how to assist in your child’s learning during a pandemic. If you have one, we’d love to read it!
The manual we do have, however, is the Bible. During this COVID-19 time, I am reminded of the story where Jesus and His disciples are a boat, in the middle of the sea, in the midst of a storm. Mark 4:39 states, “And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
The Alberta Conference schools will be taking a day to follow this command. A day of health, wellness and spiritual rejuvenation. There will be no classes on Monday, May 11, and instead, we ask families to enjoy a day to stop. To be at peace. To be still. Please take this day to enjoy your family, to spend some extra time with God, to take a break from Zoom and computers…
May we each stay connected during this time to the One who brings us peace.
Blessings and most sincerely,
Ronda Ziakris
